Thai Rent A Car Thailand Rental Terms for travel between 01-Sep-2018 and 31-Dec-2024


Baby seats
Baby seats suitable for children six months to three years are available at all locations and must be pre-booked at the time of reservation. The seats will be charged at Baht 100 per day to a maximum of Baht 1,500 per month. Baby capsules for infants under six months are not available.
Portable GPS Navigators
The Nuvi Portable GPS Navigators are available at all locations and should be pre-booked at the time of reservation. The Navigator will be charged at Baht 200 per day to a maximum of Baht 3,000 per month.

Additional drivers policy: 
There have unlimited additional drivers and no extra charges for additional drivers, however, the additional driver's name must be provided on time of rental otherwise no insurance coverage. Additional Drivers are required to be at least 21 years of age and must show a valid driving licence at time of rental

After Hours: 
After hours Pick up and Return are available for all confirmed reservations both on airport and off-airport locations with no additional charges.
Definite Pick up and Return time must be provided at the time of reservation.

Age requirements: 
Drivers are required to be at least 21 years of age, and there are no age surcharges or maximum age limitations.All renters must have a valid driving licence

Airport Procedure: 
Thai Rent A Car guarantee to meet all reserved reservations of scheduled incoming and departing flights. No additional fees for renters picking up or returning cars at the airports, except airport car parking fee

Authorized Driving Areas: 
Thai Rent A Car permits renters to drive the vehicle only within the Kingdom of Thailand and all vehicles are not permitted to leave the Kingdom of Thailand. No cross border travel allowed. No International one-way rentals are permitted. Failure to comply with this requirement will void all insurance coverage.
In addition the vehicle can be taken on a ferry to the island of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Auxiliary Equipment: 
Trailers, boats, disabled equipment and chains cannot be attached to a Thai Rent A Car vehicle except when provided by Thai Rent A Car

Cash Rentals and Deposit: 
Cash rentals not accepted and No Cash deposit allowed

Compulsory insurance coverage and Loss Damage Waiver (LDW):
Thai Rent A Car rental car has include compulsory insurance coverage requires by law and each of their own insurance coverage with Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) which will have deductable of THB 5,000/ 12,000 and benefits as follow
1. Damage to the car or any part of the car in case of collision
2. Windshields and windows from collision and broken from a person
3. Rear view mirror from collision and theft
4. Every part under insurance policy
5. Antenna broken from collision and lost from theft
6. Tires involved in collision
7. Damage cause from collision

Credit Cards: 
Credit card must be supplied at time of vehicle pick up in the main renter's name only.
The renter's name must match the name on the card and the signature on the back of the card must match the name imprinted on the card.
Credit cards honoured in Thailand are American Express, MasterCard, Union Pay and Visa.

Currency Conversion: 
The exchange rates of paying in full or balance on arrival will be calculated on the vehicle pick up date. The currency conversion website www.oanda.com will be referenced

Debit Cards: 
Debit cards not accepted

Delivery & Collection: 
No additional fees for Delivery and Collection the rental cars at the airports of Thai Rent A Car's Location.
Delivery and Collection from hotels are on request and for free if within city limits of the station concerned. Free delivery and pick up within 15 kilometers of all locations with NO minimum rental fee per contract. Otherwise, the charge of 300 Baht per way and 500 Baht per rental for Delivery & Collection will be applied.

5,000 THB for vehicles group EBAR, MDAR, MCAR, ECAR, CCAR, FCAR, FFAR & LCAR


Excess/Deductible: (Non-tax Charge) 
The car is fully insured in case of non recoverable damaged the excess of 5,000 Baht applied for vehicles group EBAR, MDAR, MCAR, ECAR, CCAR, FCAR & FFAR while 12,000 Baht for vehicles group LCAR

Fuel Policies / Charges 
All rental vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel. Fuel not pre-purchased and will be charged for amount of fuel missing at the end of rental. The amount charge of fuel missing will be based on a market competitive price and the car model rented

Upon calling, professional emergency specialists will ensure appropriate assistance is arranged by the quickest means to meet the customer's requirements. Thai, English speakers are available 24 hours per day.
Please note that puncture repairs, lock outs, and out of fuel calls will be charged to the renter at the time of service

Insurances available
What insurances are available and the excess amounts.
Motor Vehicle Insurance has partnered with Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited to provide insurance protection.
Daily rental rates include vehicle insurance and third party liability, including property cover, and Loss Damage Waiver (LDW). Please note that an excess applies to all rentals. If a customer is involved in an accident that cannot be recovered from a third party or there is a loss, they will need to pay Baht 5,000 or 12,000 excess. Insurance coverage in subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement, but follows generally accepted international standards. Detailed below are the coverages of international standard Insurance Protection available in Thailand from Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance-Included in all Rates
The Road Protection Act provides limited injury and death cover to anyone injured or killed in an accident. Liability for bodily injury or death of any third person caused by accident is covered up to Baht 2 million per person or not exceeding Baht 10 million per accident.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) - Included in Net Rates
LDW provides comprehensive coverage to the renter for own vehicle damage, as well as liability protection against third party injury, death or vehicle and property damage. This coverage limits the renters responsibility to a maximum of Baht 5,000 or 12,000 in the event of loss or damage to the rented vehicle where recovery cannot be made from a third party, subject to the renters compliance with the Rental Agreement.
In other words, the maximum exposure that a renter will have in the event of non-recoverable loss or damage is Baht 5,000 or 12,000, providing the Details of Use Restrictions at Item of the Rental Agreement are not contravened. If Use Restrictions are contravened, the LDW is void.
All claims shall be determined by the courts in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Maximum rental period: 
No maximum rental limitations

Minimum rental period: 
Minimum rental period is one day that is calculated as a 24 hour period from the time the vehicle is picked up. Any rental of less than 24 hours will be charged a full day's rate.

No Show and Cancellation Policy: 
if cancelled up to 24 hours prior to vehicle pick up, no cancellation fee will be charged.
if cancelled later or in case of No-Show, cancellation fee equal to 50% of the full cost will be charged.

On Request Process and timescales: 
All vehicle groups EBAR, MDAR, MCAR, ECAR, CCAR, FCAR, FFAR & LCAR are on request.

One way rentals: 
One-way rentals is available between all Thai Rent A Car locations in Thailand. No one-way fee for rentals of 7 days or more, otherwise 2,000 - 8,000 Baht of one-way fee will be charged. Rentals that are returned within the same city area are free of charge.

Operating hours: 
08.30 a.m. to 06.30 p.m. (Location hrs) but we meet all reservations and flight schedules 24 hrs 7 days per week, No close out days. Emergency number stand by 24 hrs

Out of hours policy: 
Thai Rent A Car will service all confirmed reservations from airport locations. Vehicles must be picked up or returned within office hours unless prior arrangements have been made with the appropriate office. Our free delivery and pickup service to other than airports also only operates during hours.

Payment policy for additional days etc: 
Any extension of rental must be paid at local rates.

Rental Extension: 
Should a renter wish to extend the rental, then it is recommended that such a request be made at the renting office as soon as possible so that every effort can be made to accommodate the request. Any extension of rental must be paid at local rates to the nearest location prior to the extended rental period commencing

Rental Qualifications and Requirements:

Return of Vehicle: 
The return of a vehicle prior to the nominated date does not entitle the renter to any refund on the unused portion of the originally agreed rental cost. In extenuating circumstances we will consider refunds for more than three days upon written request.

Thai Rent A Car offers a 24 hour emergency assistance service number 1647 and press #3 or contact the nearest Thai Rent airport counter or downtown location

Tyre damage policy: 
Customer will be responsible for cost of tyres involved in collision except the renter avail the Premium Loss Damage Waiver (PLDW)

All rentals are subject to the terms and conditions on the rental agreement. Only vehicle categories as opposed to model types can be confirmed at the time of booking.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
